Okay, we'll start with the bad.
These designs appear to have been done out of necessity rather than design. Someone said, "Hey we need a package", then they found someone who knew some Photoshop and this is what came of it. At least the candle has a little thought put into it. They are all very generic and uninviting. But at least the ground black pepper is cheaper is much cheaper than the better designed alternative...and who doesn't love a drop shadow?
The good:
These are by no means ground breaking works of art. However, i'd have to admit they are pleasing designs. I'm sure most everyone has encountered Lucerne products by now. The colors are pleasing from light blues or greens and a cow mascot showing that the butter or milk actually came from a cow.
Indiana Jones, all three movies in one box. The outer box is the best part of the design. The paper used has a slight texture and looks worn like a map that Indy may have in his possession. The color palette is pretty simple going with the rustic look that goes well with the theme of the movies.
The Heineken bottle is the usual green that defines the brand. But on this particular "light" version of the beer, they have decided to go with a clear label. This enables the white letters to pop off the bottle. I especially like how the Heineken logo sits on top of the "premium Light" text.

Heineken bottle design was one I always felt was successful. Visually you still get the brand look, but graphically, you get the mood of it being "light" just by the subtle use of the brand elements and the negative space. The slender and verticalness also adds to that. It was brilliant when it came out a few years ago.
hmyeah, those bad designs are pretty...bad. especially the one in the middle. did they really need to slap the barcode on right there next to the product name? =/
