I have chosen to repackage Banana Boat sport sunscreen.
Sunscreen was invented in the 1930's as a growing need for protection from sunburn became a growing concern. Banana boat is a leading sunscreen brand, with its competitors Coppertone and Bullfrog. Since sunscreen use is considered a necessity for cancer prevention many companies have not updated the look and feel of there products in many years. Compared to there competitors, Banana boat is behind in marketing the look and feel of the sports world. With the popularity of non traditional sports such as skateboarding, surfing etc. A new look is needed to capture those markets.
The competitors packaging:

Target Audience: Everyone who enjoys sports in the sun
Banana Boats Goal: To help you enjoy the sun without the annoying and dangerous sun burn.
I would like to explore many different packaging options focusing on individuals who are on the go and need a sunscreen packaging that adapts to their active lifestyles.

I think it would be a good idea to target those skateboarders and surfers to use sunblook,it would make the use of sunblock fun and i think it would bring more sells.
good choice. i really dont like the bright orange color they have now. i know its supposed to be representative of fun in the sun, but it really just turns me off to the packaging.
nice choice.
Good idea by trying to appeal to the action sport market. Many people that use sunscreen are people that go to beach or lake and do activities outside. By appealing to them will increase sales I think a lot.
I think your idea sounds very interesting. What would be your variations though? Will you target only surfers? Maybe you can make different designs for different sports.

Great idea. I hope you can put variety into the different designs. Good Luck!
sweet idea man. i fall under the category of one who forgets to put on sun screen. i think if there were a way to make it more prominent in my daily routine with somewhat of a more functional application that would be awesome..
hmm, looks like the .html is on there. maybe it just got copied wrong. anyways, thanks for the approval on my product redesign, told you it was confusing. haha
Banana Boat is due for a redesign. I use it and I always thought the design was always so so. It's not bad but it's not great. Can't wait to see what you have in mind. ^_^

Hey I was wondering if you should make the size smaller and have a hole for the keychain so that you can just carry it with you eveywhere. Just a thought.
I really like banana boat sun tan oil spray. So I'm interested to see your take on it.

cool product choice. sun screen never crossed my mind. are you going to re brand the coloring? or keep the same orange yellow color
Great ideas! I'm interested to see how your going to change the packaging and design. I go swimming alot and most of the time I forget to bring sunblock. Maybe on the product a string could attached so that it could be easier to carry??

I like this banana sport package design. I am curious to see what your going to do with it. It's plain but I think it works. But I think it can be improved though.
Banana Boat is a product that most people are familiar with so to redesign it and keep its status might be a bit challenging. But I think it can be changed for the better. I think you can come up with some really cool design with it.
I'm going to change it as much as I can. I'm not too concerned about the branding of the current product because I don't think people really reach for the sport sunscreen because of the current design. I will keep the logo but that's about it. I have thought about the keychain idea, but I would also like to see what else I can come up with.
